St Andrew, Covehithe

Covehithe is an incredibly picturesque ruin just south of the Benacre Nature Reserve and a few miles north of Southwold. It is very close to the quickly eroding Suffolk coast, and as such I should imagine its days are numbered, There is habitation here except for farm buildings, and unfortunately there is no direct route to the coastline. A small and modest church sits inside the ruin up against the surviving tower.

St Mary, Chediston

Chediston is a tiny village that is just a couple of miles west of Halesworth. The church has a very neat and well looked after interior with plenty of light coming through the windows. It is always open and welcomes visitors. The village is not big enough to support a local pub unfortunately.

St. Andrew, Bramfield, Suffolk.

St Andrews is always open and welcoming. It has a thatched roof and a detached round tower which was apparently how it was built. There is lots of light inside the building and it is obviously well cared for. There is a great bub next door where you can view the pub and enjoy a pint in the garden.

Holy Trinity is a wonderful large church overlooking tidal marshland alongside the River Blyth. It is full of light and just asking you to take pictures. I have always found it open and welcoming to guests. Being located just off the A12 and only a ten minute drive from Southwold, there are always a few people looking around.
